Summer service advisor Eric Sundqvist says the airport is an inspiring work place, where you get exposed to cultures and people from all over.

”I got a summer job at Helsinki Airport last year. First I emailed Finavia CEO Kari Savolainen and asked if the company had work for me. He directed me to the HR department and I was recruited for the customer service desk. This year, I’m continuing as a summer service advisor, advising customers with travelling, parking and on social media.

Helsinki Airport is an interesting place to work because the business is growing and the airport is a hotspot of different cultures and people. I believe that there are also future career opportunities available here. It’s a relaxed working environment: there’s no strict hierarchy between upper management and employees.

I think smooth customer service makes a real difference for people travelling through the airport. I enjoy being in direct contact with passengers and helping them with their problems. For many people, air travel is still a bit stressful, so it’s important that passengers get assistance when they need it.”
