The Aviation Union (IAU) and the Transport Workers' Union (AKT) have announced a demonstration on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 2 PM to 4 PM.

The demonstration will affect Finnair's baggage handling, customer service, and flight preparations. Finnair has canceled flights due to the situation and will communicate changes directly to passengers.

According to current information, the impacts will begin before the demonstration and continue after it ends, as it takes time for air traffic to return to normal schedules. Operations will be gradually restored after the demonstration.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused to passengers. Finavia is not a party to the situation, and the measures do not target Finavia.

Instructions for passengers

We kindly ask passengers to contact their airline regarding individual flights and re-routing if necessary.

Airlines are responsible for transferring, transporting, and delivering baggage to passengers. Passengers whose baggage does not arrive at the baggage claim area are requested to contact their airline and follow their instructions.

Finnair has published a travel update on the situation and its impacts on Finnair's website.

Passengers departing on flights are advised to follow up-to-date flight information on Finavia's website. Flight information for departures and arrivals from Finavia's airports can be found on each airport's respective website. Flight information for Helsinki Airport can be found here.
