The Swiss airline will operate the route between Zurich and Kittilä twice a week during the winter season 2024–2025, starting December 11, 2024. The scheduled flights will continue from June to September 2025, with the route being operated once a week on Saturdays. The route will be flown with a 174-seat Airbus A320 aircraft.
This is the second year-round international flight connection to Kittilä Airport. In August, Discover Airlines, also part of the Lufthansa Group, announced year-round flights from Frankfurt, Germany. The flights from Edelweiss will thus increase the number of international summer flights to Kittilä to three weekly flights.

The route connects Kittilä to Zurich Airport’s extensive network, serving also local residents year-round.
Lufthansa Group airlines have announced numerous new routes for next winter. Lufthansa will open a new route from Frankfurt to Rovaniemi, Edelweiss Air from Zurich to Rovaniemi, Austrian Airlines from Vienna to Kittilä and Ivalo, and Eurowings from Hamburg to Kittilä and Rovaniemi, as well as from Stuttgart to Rovaniemi.
