"We are delighted with Eurowings’ new summer flights to Lapland, in addition to the extensive route offering during the winter season as part of the Lufthansa Group. This route strengthens the year-round accessibility of Rovaniemi and the entire Lapland region," says Petri Vuori, Finavia’s Senior Vice President responsible for route development.
“Eurowings' new route opens fantastic opportunities for the growth of Rovaniemi’s summer tourism. As part of the Lufthansa Group, the airline provides significant network advantages by connecting flights to other northern destinations. Düsseldorf is a particularly exciting market, as it links both German and Dutch travelers, two markets with long traditions of summer travel to Lapland,” says Sanna Kärkkäinen, Managing Director of Visit Rovaniemi.
“We are very happy to bring our guests closer to the charms of Finnish Lapland with a direct connection from Düsseldorf in the summer as well. I am convinced that many German travelers will look forward to this convenient way of travelling and enjoy the never-ending summer nights in Northern Europe,” concludes Reinald Frankewitz, Head of Airport & Network Relations, Eurowings.
Direct flights for the summer season to Lapland have also been announced from Milan to Rovaniemi (Ryanair), Frankfurt to Kittilä (Discover), and Zurich to Kittilä (Edelweiss).
