Built around the theme of “My Finland”, the exhibition is part of the nationwide celebrations of Finland’s centenary. Thus, the photos illustrate the history of Finland and the passing of time.
The exhibition consists of twelve photos by the photography students at Central Ostrobothnia Folk High School. Minun Suomeni / My Finland is the group’s joint diploma project. The photographers picked the theme together, looking for a little twist which the spectators hopefully will spot in the pictures.
The exhibition is displayed at airports, because the group wanted to bring their artwork to places where people can see it.
At Kokkola-Pietarsaari airport, all visitors at the airport will be able to admire the photos. On 23 January, the exhibition will move on to Oulu airport where departing passengers can enjoy it in the gate area.
For the past year, the VAP16 group has studied the basics of photography with teachers Jari Eklund and Samppa Toivonen at Central Ostrobothnia Folk High School in Kälviä. Education organiser is the Federation of Education in Central Ostrobothnia.
VAP16 students: Heli Aro, John Hagnäs, Niina Heikkinen, Satu Kangas-Viljamäki, Malla Kullas, Sampsa Köykkä, Anne Lampela, Elina Leskinen, Mikko Lento, Merja Nurmi, Riia Onjukka and Noora Perätalo.
