Flying with family doesn’t need to be a stress-filled survival battle. At Helsinki Airport, there are plenty of fun activities and services especially created for kids and families.
In the map (above), you can find the essential services to help you keep your kids happy before the flight.
If you start your trip from Terminal 2, make sure to take advantage of the special family security check gate. You can skip the regular queues and move on to the gate area faster and easier.
After the security check, you can borrow strollers free of charge.
There are several kids’ play areas at the airport, where young ones can burn off extra energy (gates 16, 20, 30 and 38). Near Gate 16, older kids and teenagers can also enjoy arcade racing games. If your kids’ entertainment is on smart phones or tablets, you can charge the devices for free at the airport’s many charging stations and use the free Wi-Fi.
The Moomin Shop (Gates 26–27) is a kids’ favorite because of the Moomintroll, Snufkin and Hattifattener figures outside that many young travelers like to pose with for photos.
Near Gate 31, there’s a kids’ playroom with a microwave for reheating food for small children.
For parents with small babies, restrooms with diaper changing stations can be found at Gates 15, 21, 30, 32, 34 and 37. Seasons Café (Gate 14) and Café Tori (Gates 26–27) also offer baby formula and baby food.
All the restaurants at Helsinki Airport welcome families and have room for strollers. Many also offer a special menu for kids and have highchairs for babies.
