Finavia has finalised the last renovation projects of the terminal and the parking area at Vaasa Airport.  The Airport welcomes all passengers wishing them a smooth and pleasant journey.

Easy parking for every situation

Parking at the airport has been renewed to cater to the different needs of passengers and those picking them up and dropping them off.

The main parking area (P2) offers nearly 700 parking spaces for the airport customers. The passengers and people visiting the area can park here for free for 25 minutes. After that, the parking will be charged according to the price list.

To help make coming to the airport even smoother, a short-term parking area (P1) has been introduced outside the terminal. Compared to the main parking area, the walking distance from the car to the terminal is only about 30 meters. The parking area is ideal for those picking up and dropping off passengers.

The road leading to the airport now has separate lanes for professional and private traffic. The lane closer to the terminal has been reserved for taxis and buses. Relocating the bus stop to the lane for professional traffic has enabled adding 5-minute parking spaces for dropping off passengers just outside the terminal.

All passenger services renewed

The entire terminal at the Vaasa Airport has undergone renovation over the past few months to make it comfortable and modern. The goal of the upgrade has been to improve the functions and comfort of the airport and to make the travel experience smoother.

The airport now has comfortable café and shop facilities both at the check-in area and the gate area. Also, the arrivals hall, the security check areas, the information desk, the passenger toilet facilities, and the check-in area and the gate areas have been renovated to meet passengers' needs.

-          The airport services are now designed to be fully functional and pleasant both for the passengers and the companies that operate at the airport. The traffic areas will still be renovated during the summer. “We will report on the effects of the work to take place at the traffic area in the near future,” says airport manager Petri Lampi.

Finavia's investment programme continues in 2015

Finavia has implemented an extensive and ongoing investment programme for its airport network for the period 2013–2015.

In 2015, approximately EUR 25 million will be invested in network airports and the estimated employment effect of the investments is 350 person-years. The investment programme will, in its entirety, bring almost 1,700 person-years' worth of work to the areas surrounding the key regional airports.
