At the Helsinki Airport train station, there are three VR ticket machines that sell tickets for Helsinki region public transport as well as tickets to long-distance trains.
HSL ticket machines sell tickets for Helsinki region public transport only. These machines are located in front of the entrance to the train station in the corridor between the terminals and at the bus stop in front of terminal 2.
Buying a single ticket in advance
Single tickets can be bought at the VR ticket machines. Two machines are located on the platform in front of the entrance from the station to the terminal building, and one is located in the corridor between the terminals, in front of the entrance to the train station.
Single tickets can be bought at the ticket machines on the platform.
If you are traveling to Helsinki, buy a regional ticket from the machine. It is valid on all HSL transport within Helsinki, Vantaa, Espoo and Kauniainen.
If you are traveling within Vantaa, buy an internal ticket for Vantaa. It is valid on all HSL transport within Vantaa.

The VR machines only accept chip cards. It is also possible to buy train tickets to elsewhere in Finland.
It is also possible to buy a Helsinki region public transport ticket from HSL ticket machines, located in front of the entrance to the train station in the corridor between the terminals and at the bus stop in front of terminal 2. These machines accept chip cards and cash.
Travelling with HSL Travel Card
You can also travel with a value or season ticket uploaded on HSL Travel Card.
You can load your Travel Card at R-kioski at Helsinki Airport or at HSL ticket machines.
Buying a 24-hour ticket
You can also buy a 24-hour ticket for Helsinki region transport from the R-kioski at the airport.
A one day regional ticket costs 12 Euros, and it is valid for unlimited travel for 24 hours within Helsinki, Vantaa, Espoo and Kauniainen. A one day internal ticket for Vantaa costs 8 Euros, and it is valid for unlimited travel for 24 hours within Vantaa.
