Norwegian today celebrated its five millionth passenger in Finland at Helsinki Airport. The company commenced flights from Helsinki in 2010 and has regularly opened new routes after that. At the moment, Norwegian is operating 37 routes from Finland.

Norwegian's base in Helsinki was introduced in 2011 and the company currently provides connections to a total of 37 destinations from Finland. From Helsinki, Norwegian provides connections to 28 destinations abroad and four destinations in Finland.

In addition to direct flights departing from Finland, it is possible for leisure and business travellers to take Norwegian's long-distance flights to the United States and Thailand via Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen.

"Norwegian has been well received in Finland, and we now have an established position in the Finnish market. I am grateful to all Finnish customers who go on Norwegian flights and appreciate our route network, our low-cost ticket prices and our aircraft range, one of the most modern and environmentally sound in Europe", says Bjørn Kjos, CEO of Norwegian.

"We are very happy for Norwegian's presence in Finland, and for the route network the company provides. Norwegian's direct flights to popular destinations and its low prices are praised by Finnish customers", says Senior Vice President Joni Sundelin at Finavia.
