Helsinki Airport has maintained its strong position in international rankings as one of the best and most appreciated airports in the world. In 2023, a total of 15.3 million passengers flew via Helsinki Airport, about a quarter of whom were business travellers.
In addition to Helsinki Airport, business travellers rated Noi Bai International Airport in Vietnam, Changi Airport in Singapore, Hong Kong International Airport in China, and Hamad International Airport in Qatar among the top five airports.
Passenger reviews of airports were collected by the international air passenger review and research company SkyTrax. The list of the best airports in the world, according to business travellers, was published by BusinessFinancing.co.uk at the end of February.
“We want to provide all of our passengers with a smooth customer experience. We work every day to improve the customer experience and actively survey the needs of business travellers to make their experience at the airport as smooth as possible. According to surveys, business travellers appreciate the renovated terminal and the efficient check-in and security control processes. In addition, the smooth passage through the gate area and the professionalism of our staff are something that business travellers appreciate,” says Ulla Serlenius, Helsinki Airport Executive Director at Finavia.
At Helsinki Airport, the needs of business travellers are taken into account in many different ways. For example, in the departures hall, airlines offer priority services, such as a dedicated check-in counter for business travellers and access to a priority security control line and an airport lounge.
In Helsinki Airport’s arrivals hall, there is an airport hotel that offers a total of ten working and resting spaces. There are also three quiet working spaces in the gate area, which you can book for your own use.
Helsinki Airport has a total of five popular lounges, three of which will be renovated in the summer of 2024.
“We want to provide opportunities for our passengers to refresh themselves and work during their journey. Helsinki Airport’s lounge facilities will expand in the summer, and two completely new concepts will be added to the offering.”
In addition, Finavia’s Premium parking is in a first-class location on the ground floor of the terminal. The parking area has its own lift connection to the departures hall and about a hundred charging points for electric cars. Additional services include a car wash and a tyre changing and storage service.
Finavia’s historic Helsinki Airport Development Programme – where the airport’s departures and arrivals halls, parking, terminal facilities and services were revamped – was completed in the autumn of 2023. The results are reflected in passenger satisfaction: In recent years, Helsinki Airport has been selected as the best airport in Northern Europe (2018, 2020, 2022) and the best airport in Europe in its size category (2018, 2019, 2022).
