Eurowings, part of the Lufthansa Group, will operate the route twice a week next winter: On Sundays from 19 January 2025 to 2 March 2025, and on Tuesdays from 21 January 2025 to 18 February 2025. The route will be flown with 180-seat Airbus A320 aircraft. Detailed flight schedules and tickets are available on the airline’s website.
"The route opening is fantastic news and a great addition to Eurowings’ comprehensive route offering. Next winter, the airline will offer up to 10 direct routes from Germany to our airports in Finland. Routes with regular scheduled flights are very important for Finland’s accessibility, and, at Finavia, we do a lot of work with our partners to develop them," says Petri Vuori, Finavia's Senior Vice President responsible for route development.
Eurowings has previously announced that it will open new winter routes from Hamburg to Rovaniemi and Kittilä. Next winter, in addition to the new openings, Eurowings will also fly from Düsseldorf to Kajaani, Ivalo, Kittilä, Kuusamo and Rovaniemi, as well as from Berlin to Rovaniemi and Helsinki Airport.
As for the other airlines in the Lufthansa Group, Lufthansa will open a route from Frankfurt to Rovaniemi, Edelweiss Air from Zürich to Kittilä and Rovaniemi, Austrian Airlines from Vienna to Kittilä and Ivalo and Discover Airlines from Frankfurt to Kittilä.
