With the opening of new lounges, Helsinki Airport’s lounge facilities will double in size in the Schengen gate area, thus improving passenger services even further.

"The growing popularity of lounges among air passengers is a global phenomenon. More and more leisure passengers are looking for experiences and pleasant travel experiences already at the airport. The demand for lounge facilities at Helsinki Airport has also increased sharply in recent years," says Nora Immonen, Finavia’s Head of Commercial Services Business at Helsinki Airport.

Europe’s largest lounge operator Swissport will open a new Aspire lounge at gate 22 at the turn of the year. The current Aspire lounge at gate 27 will also be renovated and reopened to passengers in 2025.

In July, airline Finnair opened a new two-section lounge at the loft near gate 21 (3rd floor), bringing 1,500 square metres of additional lounge space to customers at Helsinki Airport. The lounge has 440 seats, which is almost 150 more customer seats than before. The lounge can be accessed by escalator or elevator.

"Travellers are going on an increasing number of leisure trips, and the need for an experience at the airport has risen. We are developing Helsinki Airport’s range of services by following travel trends, which is reflected in high customer satisfaction. The renovated lounges offer even more opportunities to relax and enjoy the journey."

After the renovations, Helsinki Airport will have a total of 6,000 square metres of lounge space.

Aspire Lounge at gate 13, Plaza Premium Lounge at gate 40 and Finnair Lounge at gate 52 will continue with their current range of services. You can buy admission to all Aspire and Plaza Premium lounges.

"Comprehensive lounge services combined with new hotel and meeting services are a welcome addition to both business and leisure passengers at Helsinki Airport," says Immonen.
