The route selection at Finavia's Lapland airports will improve even further in the winter when Easyjet opens direct connections from Kittilä Airport to the Manchester and London Gatwick airports in November.
“The new routes are a very welcome addition to the comprehensive range of routes available at our airports. In addition to Kittilä, Easyjet will open five new routes for the winter season at Rovaniemi Airport in December. We are delighted that the work we are doing on Finland's accessibility is bearing fruit in this way,” says Petri Vuori, Finavia's Senior Vice President, Sales and Route Development.
Easyjet will open the Kittilä–Manchester route on 16 November 2023. There will be two flights a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Flights from Kittilä to London Gatwick will start on 25 November 2023. Easyjet will operate the route twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays.
“The opening of new scheduled flights is a strong signal that Finnish Lapland is of interest to an ever expanding international customer base. People no longer come from the UK to Lapland just to meet Santa Claus and see the Northern Lights. There are now many other experiences and winter activities that are also of interest to international passengers,” says Visit Levi's CEO Satu Pesonen.
You can book your flights through the EasyJet website. Tickets for the flights to Manchester and London will go on sale on 13 July.
