“Together with key airport companies, we are prepared for difficult weather conditions. There may be delays if the runway capacity must be reduced due to challenging weather conditions or low visibility”, says Jani Elasmaa, Finavia’s Vice President responsible for Helsinki Airport’s runway and apron operations.
Heavy snowfall will bring wet snow, which can take more time to clear off runways, apron and airplane wings.
Snowfall is also expected at other airports in Northern Europe. Therefore, there may be delays to arriving flights as well as departing flights at Helsinki Airport.
We kindly ask passengers to prepare for changes in flight schedules and follow the instructions provided by their airlines. Airlines are also responsible for questions regarding baggage.
