Finavia’s goal is to improve the availability of taxis at Oulu Airport, especially during the busiest and quietest hours. The goal of contract taxi operations is to make travel smoother by ensuring the availability of taxis and the quality of service.
“We put the taxi services at Oulu Airport out to tender for the first time in late 2021. The goal of contract taxi operations is to ensure smooth and functional taxi connections for passengers at all times of the day,” says Liisa Sallinen, Airport Manager of Oulu Airport.
At Oulu Airport, the taxi ranks of the contract taxis are located right in front of the main doors of the terminal, making it as easy as possible to get from the terminal to a taxi. Starting from 1 January, 2024, OTAXI Oulu will serve passengers at taxi rank 2. Mankkaan Taksi will continue to serve passengers at taxi rank 1.
All Finavia airports also have spaces for other taxi companies’ cars, which will be able to drop off and pick up passengers as they have done in the past. In addition, Oulu Airport will continue to have a separate reserved area for pre-booked taxis. Passengers will continue to be free to choose the taxi company they wish to use.
