“The new connection from Vienna to Rovaniemi is great news and, together with Kittilä’s flights, it is a very welcome addition to the comprehensive route network of Finavia’s airports. The future route launches to our airports in Lapland predict a busy tourist season for next winter,” says Petri Vuori, Senior Vice President, Sales and Route Development at Finavia.
From 2 December, the route between the Austrian capital Vienna and Rovaniemi will be flown once a week on Saturdays. The flights will operate using the Airbus A320.
In addition, Austrian Airlines will operate charter flights from Vienna to Kittilä Airport starting from 20 January 2024. The flights will be operated once a week on Saturdays. Although Austrian Airlines will operate this route as charter flights, the company will also make some of the tickets available for sales to the general public.
Austrian Airlines is a subsidiary of the German airline giant Lufthansa.
