“The kitchens represent flavours from around the world. In the new restaurant world, the emphasis is on quick service and a wide selection,” says Nora Immonen, Finavia’s Director of Commercial Services at Helsinki Airport.
The restaurants in the arrivals hall are Lopez y Lopez, Pretty Boy Wingery, Levant, Bär Bar, TGM and Richie’s Gourmet Hot Dogs. The wide selection on offer includes Mexican tacos, Finnish chicken wings, Middle Eastern falafels and salads, smoothies made with Finnish berries and hot dogs.
“There are products that passengers can easily take with them as well as opportunities for shared moments and gatherings with good food and drink in the areas for customers,” says Immonen.
Lunch break at the airport
The new restaurants are located in the arrivals hall of Helsinki Airport, right by the passageways for arriving passengers. The arrivals hall is situated before the security control, giving meeters and greeters, workers from the airport and its surrounding areas, as well as other visitors to the airport a chance to try out new dining experiences.
During the opening week, 9–15 May, the restaurants will have special offers and live music. In addition, Finavia will also offer free parking to everyone who has lunch in the restaurants in the arrivals hall.
“The opening of the restaurant world is an important step for us as part of our comprehensive renewal of the commercial services at Helsinki Airport,” says Immonen.
“The construction work does not stop here, as we are also renewing the services on offer in the gate area,” Immonen reveals.
The new arrivals hall at Helsinki Airport was opened to passengers in December 2021.
