In accordance with the decision of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, Finavia has changed its passenger and airport processes to prevent the spread of COVID-19: the quarantine instructions issued by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare will be distributed at the arrival gates of flights from Italy and Lithuania starting from Friday, 28 August.

While Italy and Lithuania are not subject to travel restrictions set by the Finnish Government, they are in the orange or red category in the traffic light model done by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare. Passengers arriving from Italy and Lithuania are not currently subject to border control, but they need to be given the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare’s instructions concerning 14 days of self-isolation and avoiding public transport. The passengers will also be given the general instructions issued by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare.

Passengers arriving from countries subject to travel restrictions will continue to be given the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare’s quarantine instructions and general instructions by the Finnish Border Guard at the passport control. The instructions are also available from Finavia’s general information desks.

Passengers arriving from countries in the green category are provided with the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare’s general instructions and a symptom assessment form. Finavia handles the distribution of these documents in the arrivals halls. Passengers who report symptoms are to be directed to the City of Vantaa health information point in accordance with the process introduced at the beginning of August.
