Monarch will fly twice a week from London Gatwick to Kittilä in December–February, as it did last winter.
Monarch will also fly twice a week from Manchester to Kittilä, starting from December, as it did last winter, but the route will be extended until 20 February.
Birmingham–Kittilä will be a whole new route. Monarch will fly on this new route twice a week starting from December until the beginning of 2018.
More flights to Lapland from Helsinki Airport
Finnair recently announced that it will increase the number of flights to Lapland. It will offer more flights from Helsinki to Rovaniemi and Kuusamo.
Between January and March, Finnair will offer four new weekly routes to Rovaniemi (on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays). Finnair will also offer three new weekly routes to Kuusamo (on Mondays, Saturdays and Sundays).
These new flights to Rovaniemi and Kuusamo will be operated using Embraer 190 aircraft.
Finnair will also change its daily Helsinki–Ivalo–Kittilä route into direct routes from Helsinki to Kittilä and Ivalo; therefore, adding more capacity to both destinations. These routes will be operated using Airbus 320 aircraft.
Finnair to open direct routes from major European cities to Lapland
Earlier this year, Finnair announced that it will offer direct flights from London, Paris and Zurich to Lapland next winter.
These will be opened in the middle of December 2017 and continued until the end of March 2018.
Finnair will fly between London Gatwick and Ivalo on Thursdays and Sundays. In addition, Finnair will operate between Zurich and Kittilä once a week on Saturdays, between Frankfurt and Kittilä once a week on Tuesdays and between Paris and Kittilä once a week on Tuesdays.
These flights will be operated using Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft.
