Three Ilmailualan Unioni IAU members have announced a 15-minute strike on Thursday, 24 November at Airpro Oy and other companies subject to the general agreement on aviation services. As the general agreements are in force, this strike is illegal.

The strike is intended to start on Thursday at 14:40 and end on 14:55. It has been announced that actions on employee unionisation at Airpro Oy are the reason.

“The IAU members’ allegations of interfering with unionisation are baseless”, says Palvelualojen työnantajat Palta ry vice president, Tuomas Aarto.

“In truth, the strike is an attempt to interfere with the employer's supervisory rights and to influence the working conditions at Airpro Oy. This operation is based in the arcane, political attempts of Ilmailualan Unioni IAU to enforce a collective agreement monopoly on aviation”, Aarto continues.

Palta demands both that the IAU members cancel the planned strike and that IAU intervenes in the situation.

“The effects of the strike will be minimal. There may, however, be slight delays in flights, baggage, freight and cabin meals. All of this is an unfortunate consequence on passengers”, says Aarto.

The unions that announced the strike are Siviililentoliikenteen työntekijät SLT rt, Finavian Maapalvelutyöntekijät FIMA ry, and Suomen Siviililentoliikennevirkailijaliitto SSL ry.
