Helsinki Airport Transport Connections

Helsinki Airport has multiple transport connections to Helsinki metropolitan area and around Finland. Whether you arrive at the airport by car, train, taxi, bus, or bike, you will have an easy access to the terminal.

Helsinki Airport locates 20 kilometres from Helsinki City Centre, from where it takes around 30 minutes by car or the train to reach the airport. A bus ride from Helsinki takes 40‒50 minutes.

Parking

Arriving to Helsinki Airport by car is comfortable and easy. Find a suitable parking option from Finavia's parking areas. There are nearly 350 charging stations for electric cars at Finavia's parking areas and a short term parking next to the terminal. Car rentals

There are several car rentals at Helsinki Airport. Their service desks are located in the Arrivals hall, next to parking information. You can rent a car in advance. Read more about renting a car.

Trains

Helsinki Airport's train station is located under the terminal. There is a direct elevator and escalator connection from the departures and arrivals hall to the train station.

Local I and P trains operate to and from Helsinki Airport. A train ride to Helsinki City Centre takes about 30 minutes. Local train tickets can be purchased from HSL's mobile app, or from the ticket machine at the train platform. Timetables, tickets and fares for local trains can be found on HSL website.

You can travel easily from Helsinki Airport to all around Finland with only one train ticket. It’s convenient to change to from the local I and P trains to long distance trains at Tikkurila and Pasila train stations.

Buses

Helsinki Airport's bus station is located outside the Arrivals hall.

Bus route 600 operates between Helsinki Airport and Helsinki City Centre. The travel time is about 40 minutes. Tickets can be purchased online on HSL's mobile app, or at the bus station's ticket machine. Read more about tickets and fares from HSL website.

Taxis

When you arrive at Helsinki Airport by taxi, the car will drop you off right in front of the terminal.

If you are leaving the airport by taxi, you will find the taxi station outside the Arrivals hall. There are four taxi lanes, and you can choose which lane and which taxi company you want to use.

The three taxi companies that have an agreement with the airport company Finavia operate from lane 1-3. These are FixuTaxi, Taksi Helsinki and Menevä-taksi. The fares for those taxis are indicated on the taxi station. Other taxi companies operate from lane 4.

Pre-booked taxis are waiting for passengers at the pick-up point on the first floor of the P2 parking hall.

Bikes

Helsinki Airport has an area for parking bikes, which is located next to the bus station alongside Helsinki Airport's Arrivals hall. The street address is Lentäjäntie 1. You can park your bike free of charge.

The bike parking area is covered and has camera surveillance. Finavia is not liable for any loss or damages. Charging of electric bikes is not possible.
