Due to ski holidays, Helsinki Airport has exceptional congestion and parking spaces are filled.
- If you are coming to the airport by your own car, we recommend using the parking garage at the airport, either in parking halls P3 or P5, or in the outdoor parking areas P4A and P4B. During the holiday season, it’s advisable to book a parking space in advance. Parking your car at Helsinki Airport? Be prepared for changes in 2019.
- Please note that stopping in front of the terminal is only allowed for a moment to leave the passengers. To avoid congestions, picking up arriving passengers by car is no longer allowed in front of the terminal. Finavia prepares for the winter holiday peak by offering free parking for P3 short-term park.
- Buses no longer run to the departing level, but leave and take passengers on board at the arrivals level. Check the changes in drive lanes and bus stops in front of terminal 2
- Make sure you have enough time to drop off your luggage and go through security control.
Travel with ease, even in the busiest times: Pack correctly
When packing, see our instructions to check what you can bring in your hand baggage, what you can put in the cargo hold and which items you are not allowed to take on board at all.
Please remember that mobile phones and backup power sources for laptop computers, i.e. power banks, must be packed in your hand baggage. Do not pack them in luggage going into the cargo hold, because they will have to be removed.
