Helsinki Airport is open 24 hours every day, also at the turn of the year. However, shops and some of the service desks have exceptional opening hours.
Restaurants, cafés and lounges at Helsinki Airport follow the restrictions introduced by the Finnish Government due to the COVID-19 pandemic: as of 28 December 2021, they will end the serving of alcoholic beverages at 5 pm, and close at 8 pm at the latest. Be prepared to show your COVID-19 certificate when visiting a restaurant, café or lounge.

Parking and baggage storage at Helsinki Airport

Packing fireworks and ski equipment
Buy your fireworks for celebrating New Year’s Eve at your final destination – they are not allowed onboard the aircraft. Fireworks or sparklers are not permitted either in hand luggage or checked baggage.
