Waiting for a flight in the Non-Schengen area at Helsinki Airport is now even tastier than before.
Nordic Kitchen, which offers Nordic flavours as its name suggests, opened its doors to passengers on Thursday 21 May.
The restaurant serves both deli and bar products as well as à la carte dishes. The menu includes Scandinavian classics, such as Toast Skagen and delicious servings of meat and fish. The breakfast selection is also diverse.
Nordic Kitchen serves customers 24/7 at Gate 35.
Fast-food is now also available at Helsinki Airport as Burger King opened its first restaurant at Gate 36.
During the summer, Burger King will open a second outlet in the Arrivals 2A lobby, which is accessible to everyone.
Both of the new restaurant outlets are operated by HMSHost.
Service reform in its final stages
Finavia's service reform at Helsinki Airport is in its final stages. As a result of the revamp of the service points, a total of about 70 new or renovated shops and restaurants will be opened at the airport.
The final reforms in Terminal 2 will be completed by the end of 2015, after which renovation will take place in Terminal 1.
Finavia is developing Helsinki Airport considerably. The ongoing EUR 900 million development programme aims at increasing the transit traffic capacity of the airport and preparing it for serving 20 million passengers per year in 2020.
