There are well-equipped play areas with activities for both younger and older children. The play areas are at gates 16, 20, 30, and 38.
The children’s room near Gate 31 is complete with a microwave and a separate toilet for nappy changes.
All restaurants serving meals are easily accessible with prams, and all have a children’s menu and high chairs.
Seasons Café (Gate 14) and Café Tori (Gate 26–27) also offer baby formula and baby food. Both cafés have a play area.
Older kids will enjoy spending time at O’Leary´s sports bar watching sports on dozens of TV screens. In the game corner, kids can play table football and a dedicated cabinet shows a collage of images of the Finnish national ice-hockey team, ‘Leijonat’, or lions.
Loads to see
One of the Helsinki Airport classics is the Junkers A50 Junior aeroplane at Gate 28.
The airport also hosts different temporary exhibitions. And, of course, the shops offer plenty to see and check out.
In front of the Moomin Shop (Gate 26–27), Moomintroll and Snufkin are joined by three humongous Hattifatteners. Ever-changing pop-up-shops feature themes for the entire family.
Both older and younger children are sure to enjoy the racing games near Gate 16. It is easy to charge your own game devices at the airport’s many charging points, and the airport-wide unlimited Wifi connection is available for free to all passengers.
PS: If you are departing from Helsinki Airport Terminal 2, bear in mind that you can use a special security check point intended to speed up and ease the process for families travelling with children. You can even borrow a pram.
