Finavia has an ongoing wide-ranging service reform at Helsinki Airport. It will bring almost 70 new or renovated restaurants and shops to the airport in the next few years.
Finavia's long-term partner SSP Finland also participates in the reform effort. In summer 2014, the restaurant operator completely renovated its congress facilities at Helsinki Airport.
The stylish Congress T2 Helsinki Airport is decorated with Scandinavian design. The northern spirit is also represented by the names of the meeting rooms, such as Pohjanmaa, Savo, and Kainuu. In the future, SSP Finland will also offer VIP services for passengers.
SSP Finland's newest service is the My City Shop & Café in Terminal 2. It provides passengers arriving in Finland with a cafe experience combined with the possibility of shopping for gifts, souvenirs, cosmetics and delicacies.
My City Shop & Café is the operator's first service point utilising the cafe-and-shop concept.
Reforms also at the small regional airports
In the coming years, SSP Finland will continue the massive reform of its service points. In addition to Helsinki Airport, SSP Finland will invest in its service points at Turku, Rovaniemi and Oulu Airports.
In Turku, for example, passengers are now served by the popular Turku Café that has been renamed and given a fresh new look (formerly Hello Café Turku).
