There are five green “Pastille” collection receptacles at Helsinki Airport. Passengers can donate their left over currency or extra coins to the pastilles. The fundraise is part of a campaing by Finavia and Plan. The collected funds will be used for the daily needs of children in developing countries.
The pastilles are designed by a Finnish designer Eero Aarnio. Four of the pastilles are located after the security control at gates 13, 19, 26 and 52. One pastille can be found in corridor between terminals 1 and 2.
Any currency is accepted and used for a good purpose, for example education, health, safety and hygiene of the children in the developing countries.
